Update – September 05th 11:33am:
Metal Injection got ahold of Tommy Vext this morning and asked if the band him and Yeung are working on will be called Divine Heresy and who is in it. To that Vext replied:
“I can’t comment as to the name of the band due to obvious legalities at this time. Details on the bands line up will be released later this month.”
Original Story:
The Divine Heresy situation looks to be getting murkier by the minute. While ex-frontman Tommy Vext and drummer Tim Yeung appear to have resurrected the group, guitarist Dino Cazares (also of Fear Factory, etc.) has another story altogether. Vext has been retweeting numerous stories of the bands return under his and Yeung‘s watch via his Twitter throughout the day.
Cazares meanwhile has already denied a reunion with Vext and went on to post the following via Divine Heresy‘s official Facebook profile today:
“Travis Neil and I have 5 songs complete and when we finish writing for the new cd we will announce who the drummer and a bassist will be . Unfortunately Due to personal reasons beyond his control Joe Payne cannot do it right now. We love him and wish him luck. The reason why it’s taking us so long is we want to write the best songs and sometimes that takes time plus we also have other personal projects occupying our time . Thank you for your patience and support.”
Travis Neil of course replaced Vext in the band following a violent altercation between Cazares and Vext back in April of 2008. So as it stands, it looks as though two different camps planning to move ahead with the band.
