Upon A Burning Body’s Danny Leal Explains Kidnapping Publicity Stunt, Wears Ropes On His Wrists Live

Upon A Burning Body vocalist Danny Leal recently addressed his disappearance hoax on Ice-T‘s ‘Final Level podcast‘. Discussing that alongside members of Ill Nino—who were also fooled by the stunt—Leal weighed in on the incident, which he has been playing up lately by wearing ropes on his wrists (see below) during the bands live sets.

“We did a little bit of a publicity thing… And people thought… We said I was missing and then they turned it into this big thing and it became a pretty serious issue—people calling the cops where we were from, stuff like that—and it became a thing, and you know what then everybody now hates what we did… Whatever, they’re blaming me and it was like you know what? I’ma come out with ropes on my hands put the ropes on and take it even further.”

He later followed up saying he thought it was “entertainment” as Ice-T and members of Ill Nino weighed in on the matter. He added finally that “the name of the record was made and we wanted to do this kinda thing to help kind promote it.” You can hear the conversation here around 20:30 in. Upon A Burning Body will release their new album “The World Is My Enemy Now” on August 12th through Sumerian.
