Denver ‘Riot Fest’ (Slayer, Primus, Etc.) To Be Moved After Being Denied A Permit

The Denver, CO ‘Riot Fest‘ is being forced to find a new venue after having been denied a temporary-use permit by Arapahoe County. The festival was intended to again be held at May Farms in Byers, CO from September 19th-21st and feature the likes of The Cure, Slayer, Primus, Bring Me The Horizon and many more.

According to a report running over at the denial of the permit came from the residents of Byers, CO, who were concerned about the strain the festival put on the 1,000 resident community last year, as well as the noise, drug usage, etc. that accompanies the event.

The organizers of the festival have since released this statement:

“Due to circumstances beyond our control and despite lots of support for Riot Fest & Sideshow in Byers, May Farms is no longer available to host Riot Fest. A nearby alternate location will be announced early next week. We know this sucks, we’re as disappointed as you are, but if you could be a little patient with us, we’ll have more information ASAP. All tickets will be honored at the new location. Riot Fest in Denver is NOT cancelled, the show will go on, and rock n roll never dies.”
