Trivium vocalist/guitarist Matt Heafy guests on a new DragonForce track titled “Defenders“. You can hear a demo of that track below via Metalhammer.co.uk. The final studio version will be included upon the bands new album “Maximum Overload“, which will see an August 19th North American release on Metal Blade Records (August 18th on Ear Music overseas.)

Defenders” will be one of a few collaborations with Heafy to appear on the album, which will feature production from Jens Bogren (Opeth, Katatonia). Band bassist Frederic Leclercq said of working with Heafy:

“We’ve always gotten on really well with the Trivium guys and it was great when Matt had a couple of days to spare and agreed to weigh in on some of the songs!”

Meanwhile, DragonForce guitarist Herman Li said of their album title choice:

“The album title and album cover artwork is inspired by the constant bombardment of information we are subjected to during our daily lives. We were in an airport departure lounge surrounded by TV screens, flight information screens and advertising screens. We then looked around and no one was saying a word, they were all looking at more screens on tablets, laptops and mobile phones, there’s no escaping it, it’s complete information overload!”

In addition to Heafy‘s contributions, more as-yet unannounced guests will make cameos on the album, which will also include a cover of Johnny Cash‘s “Ring Of Fire“. Along with standard releases, a special edition version of the album featuring five bonus tracks and a DVD will be made available.
