Mogwai To Release 15th Anniversary Edition Of “Come On Die Young” With Bonus Scrapped Album (Updated)

Mogwai have plans for a 15th anniversary deluxe edition reissue of their 1999 sophomore album “Come On Die Young“. Included with the reissue will be a previously scrapped album, of which guitarist/vocalist Stuart Braithwaite told Clash Music:

“We’ve just sorted out the 15-year anniversary edition of ‘Come On Die Young‘. It’ll have 90 minutes of extras. We’d recorded a whole record before we went to America, at the time, and then scrapped it. So we’ve remixed those songs. We’re happy with it. It’s out in the summer, I think.”

He also mentioned that an EP of songs recorded during the same time frame as their latest outing “Rave Tapes” will be released this fall. A soundtrack for the second season of “The Returned” is also in the works.

Update – March 22nd 11:22am:

Braithwaite has since clarified his comments, tweeting:

“Before anyone gets carried away with what I said to Clash today. The scrapped album was an early version of C.O.D.Y, just to clarify.”
