Failure Added To Leg Of Tool’s March U.S. Tour, Planning Tour Of Their Own

Failure have been announced as the opener for numerous stops on Tool‘s impending March North American tour. The group will join the bill from March 09th-27th (excluding Mexico.) Failure frontman Ken Andrews said of the opportunity:

“Looking forward to hanging with my old mates, but more importantly, it’s a chance for people to hear two bands that still really care about the long form album format and what you can do that amount of time artistically, versus three-and-a-half minute singles.”

Dates Failure will open include:

03/09 Reno, NV – Reno Event Center
03/11 San Francisco, CA – Bill Graham Civic Auditorium
03/12 San Francisco, CA – Bill Graham Civic Auditorium
03/14 Fresno, CA – Selland Arena
03/15 Las Vegas, NV – Planet Hollywood
03/16 San Diego, CA – Valley View Arena
03/18 Mexico City, MEX – Palacio De Los Deportes
03/21 Veracruz, MEX – Festival Cumbre Tajin
03/24 Austin, TX – Cedar Park Center
03/25 Houston, TX – Toyota Center
03/27 Phoenix, AZ – US Airways Center

The news isn’t too surprising given that Failure are also tapped to open Tool frontman Maynard James Keenan‘s fiftieth birthday celebrating ‘Cinquanta‘ shows at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles, CA on May 10th-11th. Failure are also planning a national tour late this spring with dates and details pending.
