Machine Head To Enter The Studio For New Album Next Week

Machine Head officially have a studio start date for their new album. Originally the recording sessions for the affair were to take place this past October, though they were delayed because as vocalist/guitarist Robb Flynn then put it, “we weren’t ready.”

Guitarist Phil Demmel has now revealed that the band should begin tracking the outing this coming Monday, February 10th, offering:

“Countdown: 4 days until load-in to record #8.Most excited I’ve been before an album session since my first, 26 years ago.Lots of work to do!”

Initial plans had Flynn handling the production with help from Juan Urteaga (Machine Head, Cattle Decapitation) and Brad K. assisting with the engineering duties. It was not announced if those plans still stand. You can expect a release later this year on Nuclear Blast Entertainment.

In the meantime, the band have a 10″ planned for this years ‘Record Store Day‘. It will feature the demo version of their new album track “Killers & Kings” and a b-side cover of Ignite‘s “Intro (Our Darkest Days)“/”Bleeding“. That will be released on April 19th.
