Fans are in uproar as last night’s 56th annual Grammy Awards‘ ‘In Memoriam’ package—which pays tribute to the musicians who passed the year prior—failed to mention Slayer‘s Jeff Hanneman. Hanneman of course passed away last May as a result of alcohol-related cirrhosis.
At least one musician of the metal/hard rock variety was included in the video package, that being late Deftones bassist Chi Cheng, who last April succumbed to the injuries he sustained in a 2008 car accident. Cheng‘s family and friends seek to honor Cheng‘s legacy with a seatbelt awareness campaign over at buckleupforchi.com.
