Ex-Lostprophets Frontman Ian Watkins Moved To His New Prison Home The “Monster Mansion”

With ex-Lostprophets frontman Ian Watkins now sentenced to 35 years for his various child sex crimes, he has been moved from HM Prison Parc in Bridgend, UK to the facility where he will be serving out the duration of his sentence.

His new home is the largest high security prison in the United Kingdom (and western Europe), HM Prison Wakefield in Wakefield, UK. The facility has the lovely nickname of the “Monster Mansion” due to its large number of incarcerated high risk sex offenders and murderers.

A 2004 report from the BBC had word that the facility came under fire for alleged harsh treatment from the guards employed at the facility. Despite the high security protocols, prisoner on prisoner violence also doesn’t appear to be uncommon. A high profile child abductor/murderer was slashed by a shiv wielded by a fellow inmate at the facility this past July.
