Megadeth & Anthrax Bassists Unite In Altitudes & Attitude, A Perfect Circle Drummer Also Involved

Megadeth bassist Dave Ellefson and Anthrax bassist Frank Bello have teamed up for a collaborative new project named Altitudes & Attitude. A three song self-titled EP from the group is scheduled for a January 14th release date.

It finds both musicians tackling the bass and guitars, while Bello takes on the vocals. A Perfect Circle drummer Jeff Friedl was brought in to handle the studio drumming for the outing while Gus G. (Ozzy Osbourne, Firewind) lends some shred to the track “Here Again“.

A preview of the EP can be found at Soundcloud. Ellefson said of the project:

“What started out as simple bass ideas quickly developed into some really great songs together. Our fans would probably never suspect that a couple of metal bass players would have songs like these inside of us. It’s exciting to write melody with diversity while still pushing the limits of lead-bass playing. Frank‘s singing, and both of us playing guitars and other instruments, gave us a whole new dimension for creative opportunities.”
