Tronos is the name of a new project featuring producer Russ Russell (Napalm Death, Evile), Napalm Death‘s Mitch Harris and members of Faith No More, Mastodon and Soilwork. Russell and Harris tackle the guitars in the outfit, while Soilwork drummer Dirk Verbeuren is handling the drumming.
Faith No More‘s Billy Gould and Mastodon‘s Troy Sanders handle the bass duties on different tracks. Meanwhile, Silje Wergeland from The Gathering is also involved, having been tapped to contribute guest vocals. A permanent vocalist for the outfit has yet to be found.
Russell and Harris also have another project named Menace in the works. It is the brainchild of Napalm Death guitarist/backing vocalist Mitch Harris (providing clean vocals no less) and features drumming from Derek Roddy (ex-Hate Eternal, etc.) & Mastodon‘s Brann Dailor. Napalm Death‘s Shane Embury and DragonForce‘s Frédéric Leclercq also lay down some bass on the record.
If that isn’t enough Harris and Russell are also working on a Cardiacs-inspired outfit together and Napalm Death have also cut a charity single of a Cardiacs cover. Metal Hammer have word on that from Russell himself, who spoke of the above projects and more via TeamRock Radio.
