The Safety Fire guitarist Derya “Dez” Nagle was involved in a cycling accident this week which will require surgeries. The band said themselves of that this past Thursday, July 25th:
“The lid himself, your boy playgle aka Dezzo, was in a road accident last night. He is going to have to undergo surgery soon to fix his face and teeth, so send him some love. Fortunately his wizard fingers are fine, so while his face may not be quite as pretty, it won’t effect any of our tour dates. TSF x”

Nagle himself commented on the accident:
“Thanks to everying for their support and concern over the last couple of days. Unfortunately I was involved in a cycling accident and landed on the right side of my face. I had my first surgery today and will be having a few more over the coming weeks. Few weeks of rest and all will be well. Albeit with a few more scars.”
According to Nagle, he was cut off and forced to stop, which caused him to go up and over his handlebars, subsequently landing face first. A photo of Nagle post-injury can be found below. The Safety Fire will have their new studio album “Mouth Of Swords” in stores on September 03rd through InsideOut Music.
