Roadrunner Records have issued the below new press release regarding their forthcoming self-titled debut album from Scar The Martyr—the new outfit from Slipknot drummer Joey Jordison:
“Roadrunner Records has announced details of the eagerly anticipated debut album from Scar The Martyr, the new project of Slipknot member Joey Jordison. “SCAR THE MARTYR” – the band’s self-titled debut collection, which was recorded at Sound Farm Studios in Des Moines, IA and produced by Rhys Fulber (Fear Factory, Rob Zombie, Mindless Self Indulgence) is slated to arrive everywhere later this fall.
In anticipation of their debut release, Scar The Martyr has announced that they will join metal and punk rock icons, Danzig, on the band’s upcoming 25th Anniversary Tour. The North American trek, which also features Doyle from The Misfits, kicks off August 9th at Sound Academy in Toronto, ON and wraps up on August 31st at Tempe, Arizona’s Marquee Theatre. Tickets for all dates are on sale now.
Renowned worldwide as one of the greatest drummers in all of rock, Joey Jordison expands upon his extraordinary talents as a songwriter and performer on Scar The Martyr’s self-titled debut. Jordison tracked both drums and bass for the entire collection as well as rhythm guitars for all but two songs. The LP which was written by Jordison and the band’s lead vocalist Henry Derek explores elements of post-punk and industrial music generating an engaging and heavy soundscape. The group received contributions in the studio from keyboardist Chris Vrenna (Nine Inch Nails), as well as guitarists Jed Simon (Strapping Young Lad) and Kris Norris (Darkest Hour) who collectively handled all lead guitars on the album.
