The Dillinger Escape Plan To Hit The Studio In November, Guitarist Teams With Wyclef Jean For Voting Ad

The Dillinger Escape Plan guitarist Ben Weinman recently teamed up with Wyclef Jean in a bid to encourage people to get out and vote. You can watch that pairing in the video below. Weinman has also been making headway on a variety of projects lately, including having six songs written for his Giraffe Tongue Orchestra supergroup with members of Mastodon and alumni of Jane’s Addiction & The Mars Volta.

He also recently completed the score for an upcoming film titled “The Morris Family Abduction“; while work of course also continues on the new album from The Dillinger Escape Plan.

The esteemed outfit will enter the studio in November with producer Steve Evetts (Poison The Well, Every Time I Die) to begin tracking the new opus. Speaking on it, Weinman offered:

“This new material is very punk-, very hardcore-influenced. Maybe it’s all the amazing bands reuniting from my youth that is inspiring this. Billy and I have just been listening to old hardcore records blasting through my house and then going down to the dungeon and just bashing. Greg also seems to be in a very dark place lyrically. I think it’s going to be pretty creepy. If these songs don’t put some holes in the wall, I don’t know what will.”
