Devin Townsend recently went into a mini-rant on piracy via his Twitter. Spurred by the leak of his upcoming “Epicloud” album, Townsend stated the following via a series of tweets:

“Look, to clarify again: The reason I’m not bothered about downloading is that over the years, some people who want me to continue support it. Of course you hear the rhetoric and complaints, yeah it’s all expensive etc etc… but its a good job we’re damn lucky to have… Ultimately, at the end of the day, I write music for ME because it’s what I LOVE. And if it ever turns around financially, great… why the hell would you want to be a musician if having people listen is so conditional? Support if you want, it costs a lot, but I luv it.”

The latest release from his Devin Townsend Project, “Epicloud“, will see a arrive on store shelves next Tuesday, September 18th.
