Hatebreed frontman Jamey Jasta has released an officially sanctioned “Free Randy Blythe” shirt for his imprisoned close friend, Lamb Of God frontman Randy Blythe. All proceeds from the shirt, which you can purchase at Martyrstore.net, will go to Blythe‘s legal defense fund.
On top of that, Lamb Of God guitarist Mark Morton recently made another public plea for fans to help donate with the costs for Blythe‘s legal defense fund. Speaking through a series of tweets Morton offered:
“i WILL tell u this…if u REALLY want to help Randy, contribute to his defense fund. Lawyers are working 24/7 to help him & theyre EXPENSIVE. no petition, no trend on Twitter, no bootleg t-shirt nor rant on some blog will help him….he needs MONEY to keep his lawyers ON IT. i know thats not exciting or sexy or cool…..but thats the fucking truth.”
“i will surely be blasted by internet trollers for talking about money for Randy…but I DONT CARE. he needs his LAWYERS & they’re EXPENSIVE.”
As previously reported, Blythe has remained in custody in Prague, Czech Republic for over a month on suspicion of manslaughter. The potential charges stem from the fatal injuries suffered by a 19 year old fan who attended a 2010 show the group played in Prague.
The fan repeatedly took to the stage and had numerous interactions with Blythe (and security guards,) most of which were captured on film. Thus far the prosecution in the case has repeatedly blocked Blythe‘s attempts at bail.
A final decision as to whether Blythe will be released on bail or be held indefinitely is expected to be made next week.
