Slayer are planning to release a new 3-4 song EP as a precursor to their eventual next album. Band drummer Dave Lombardo recently broke the news to Thenervousbreakdown.com via the following exchange:
“Any estimation when the album could see the light of day?
I don’t know, but we’re going to do a three or four-song EP to keep the fans pacified until we come out with the full-length record. Kind of like what we did with “Psycopathy Red,” which was like a two-song 45.”
According to Lombardo nine songs have been written thus far for Slayer‘s next full-length opus.
