Summon The Insects are planning to finish up work on their long awaited new album this year. The group is comprised of current members and alumni of Despised Icon, The Acacia Strain, Through The Eyes Of The Dead and Burn The Silence, among others. Those unfamiliar with the band can check them out here.
Meanwhile, band guitarist Mike Casavant recently offered the following update:
“Just wanted to drop a quick line, as I always seem to write the same thing and never have any follow through haha. For those of you that don’t know I have been filling in on guitar for The Acacia Strain since September, and my schedule has gone from not busy, to never having a second to breathe haha.
I love it and could not be more stoked to have this amazing opportunity to play with a band that I have always loved, and always respected. Regardless we have a few months of down time due to TAS writing a new album, recording etc etc. So this means STI will FINALLY record vocals, will FINALLY get new songs up here, and will FINALLY get to get’n and eventually take this band off the ground.
It’s been so hard because of everyones schedules but this is going to see the light of day if it’s the last thing I ever have to do.
Mike from hardtimes.ca was nice enough to come out to do an interview with me a few days ago when I was up in Burlington VT playing with TAS on Stillbornfest09. Heres a link to the interview check it out!!Thats’ all I got for now guys just know that the music is there, and waiting to be raped by mr. Nate Johnson‘s vocal debauchery, and I assure you that this dreaded wait will be worth it. I want to put out this album so bad, because I believe in these songs so much, and I really honestly think you will enjoy them as much as we do.
Cheers guys lets make 2010 a killer year and make 2010 a year of STI”
Meanwhile, another interview recently conducted with Casavant hints that The Red Shore‘s Chase Butler may in fact be handling the vocal duties for the album if things with Johnson don’t work out. That interview can be found below:
