Chimaira To Tour Without Bassist, Reportedly Track Pantera Cover


Chimaira have revealed that they will once again be enlisting the services of Daath guitarist Emil Werstler, this time to fill in for bassist Jim LaMarca, who will be missing the October 29th – November 01st stops of the bands upcoming tour with Trivium, Whitechapel and Dirge Within.

LaMarca will be missing the first few stops of the trek as the result of his upcoming honeymoon. Chimaira had previously tapped Werstler to fill in for guitarist Matt DeVries, who had to temporarily step down to attend to the birth of his son, during their most recent European tour. I

n other news, rumors have begun to circulate that the band will be included on the previously revealed Pantera tribute effort being put together by an as-yet undisclosed U.K. metal magazine. Band frontman Mark Hunter recently posted on his Twitter account that they were entering the studio to begin tracking a song.

Soon after, lyrics to the Pantera classic “Slaughtered” were posted on Chimaira‘s official Twitter account, leading some to speculate that the band may be covering the aforementioned track for the compilation. At present, only Machine Head are heavily rumored to appear on the effort, with the band having recently tracked a cover of “Fucking Hostile“.
