iTunes have revealed their choices for the best metal albums of 2016 and the best metal tracks of 2016. Though neither list was numerically, both lists appeared in the following order with Gojira the first entry in both, seemingly signifying a top position:

Metallica‘s “Hardwired…To Self-Destruct” also landed in the Top Rock Albums Of 2016 list, with its first single, “Hardwired“, sitting in the Best Rock Tracks Of 2016 list. In case you’re curious, Deftones‘ “Gore” didn’t place on either chart.
