Corey Taylor On Slipknot’s Future: “Great Things Are Coming”

Despite the departure of their drummer Joey Jordison, Slipknot (and Stone Sour) vocalist Corey Taylor assured fans last night that Slipknot is still very much on track. Speaking through a brief message on his Twitter yesterday, Taylor set to reassure fans with the following tweet:

“For those who think The Knot are falling apart, you are greatly and sadly mistaken.
Bring On 2014.
Great Things Are Coming.
Stay Tuned…”

Various members of the band are expected to convene in the studio next month to begin writing the groups next album.

I can’t really see them putting out anything noteworthy from here on out. Might be decent for a few listens, but they haven’t done anything really memorable for quite some time. I don’t see Jordison’s absence being the problem, just a general lack of direction.

        • I am basically agreeing with you. I don’t see them going anywhere anymore. I feel like the loss of 2 members has left them broken, just like Anderson Silva’s leg (UFC Fighter) on Saturday. You should watch the video. It’s gross. He broke his tibia and fibula trying to leg kick his opponent who checked it.

    • Whitechapel are releasing a new album. If it keep the general direction the last one had that’s gonna be great.
      New Behemoth
      New Adrenaline Mob

      I agree with Taylor.

Man slopknot has gotten bad, just reviewed the singles from the last album. Only one semi palatable is sulfur. 8 people in a band and the sound still sounds thin. These pop metal bands drive me nuts, the alternative radio station is so hard to listen to a7x 5fdp volbeat cage the elephant ect. To me it’s all radio gaga. 2014 doesn’t have good things to look forward to in this musical genre. Ps. Deftones and tool radio play is one of the few axceptions to this ramble.
