Also, Crosses is NOT Witch House. Just cuz they use “Wingdings” (IE. Crosses as a band name) doesn’t make them Witch House. It’s just down tempo electronic music. Crosses is basically Team Sleep part 2.

Trust me, Cuz I love the horribly named genre known as Witch House. Haha.

    • I have to admit I enjoy the “drop” parts in Skrillex’s stuff. Pretty frantic, insane stuff.
Who knows, music might be going the way of the old hippie’s “zen” music in Children of Men…………….anyone?

I’m 29. I’ve been a metal head my whole life. And honestly, was getting very bored of the same old same old. There was something missing, and i was craving something new. Then about a year ago i discovered Dubstep . It flipped my musical world upside down. People moshing at a DJ show? wtf? electronica that makes me headbang but instead of feeling depressed anger, i feel intense happiness?? Dubstep is the technological evolution of Metal. i was sold. Dubstep is what The Prodigy were trying to be 15 years ago. But like ANYTHING ELSE, there is awesome dubstep, and there is shit dubstep. Even the best dubstep DJ’s have amazing songs, and some songs that just fucking suck. I’m strongly encouraging KoRn to ride this wave, because ultimately if the songs are good, then it’s good. If it sucks, and they just try to imitate what’s already been established, then it sucks. end of story. I can honestly say that Dubstep changed my life, and i’m not some fuckin emo 16 year old hipster scene kid. exlain that one fuckers.

I’m happy you found a way to satisfy your new cravings for fresh music, and although I hate dubstep, I think that it’s just a matter of opinion and I respect yours.
But I definitely do not think that dubstep is the technological evolution of metal, and it is certainly not what the Prodigy were trying to be 15 years ago.

If dubstep was shifted to heavy metal, it would sound like Dr.Acula and Emmure. Too many breakdowns, too many noise, not enough structural integrity in each individual song. And, in my opinion, Prodigy was, and is capable of creating something like dubstep, but they didn’t. Because I think they knew that too much is worse than nothing. So they took a step back and blended metal and electronic music just to an adequate formula.

If you enjoy the music, that’s good for you. But please do not say far-fetched things like ‘Dubstep is the evolution of metal’ and disrespectful stuff such as ‘Dubstep is what Prodigy wanted to be 15 years ago’.

      • @mongo – When did Prodigy blend metal with anything? I listened to the Fat of the Land to death, and I would never have even thought of calling it anything remotely close to metal, even in my naive 14-year-old mind.

@Maximus – Saying dubstep is what Prodigy was trying to achieve is ridiculous. That implies they failed at something. It’s over a decade ago. I think Prodigy achieved what they were trying to achieve. That’s like saying Black Sabbath was trying to achieve what Metallica achieved in terms of metal. Different time, different music.

And your “dubstep is the evolution of metal” is hilarious, points for humour. XD Okay, it’s AN evolution of metal, just like that fucking crunk-core whatever garbage was. (I’m not equating crunk-pooh and dubstep, just saying it’s a different branch of the metal tree, not the trunk.)

@robi I actually regretted making that comment and thought about rewriting it because that was actually a typo. I was writing a long comment and got confused. What I meant to say was ‘rock’, not ‘metal’. Thanks for pointing that out.
