    • To state the obvious, drug addiction is a pretty horrible thing. To die alone like that… And for someone in that situation where there’s that clear moment they realize they’ve gone a bit too far this time and it’s too late. I guess everyone deals with their demons in different ways…some ways are riskier than others, of course.

    • What the fuck? That call sounds fake. I’m not saying that it IS fake, just that it sounds bogus. The questions the operator asked were beyond bonkers. There didn’t seem to be any urgency in his voice and a whole bunch of “ummmm ok”. So what if the employee is saying that he’s dead. He’s a fucking maintenance worker, not a doctor. It could have been a gunshot wound to the head, but you should still show some fucking urgency. And really, is anyone surprised that it’s drug related? There was an issue of Revolver not that long back that had like a 10 page spread on Slipknot and Paul openly admitted to having a serious heroin addiction during the Iowa album (both recording and touring).

    • 911 operators are always under fire. They are trained to sound mono tone and calm. If their feelings got the better part of them and they showed more urgency, theyd be useless.

    • I’m not saying that they need to let their feelings get the better of them and I couldn’t care less about a monotone voice. I’m talking about speaking faster than a third grader trying to read Ulysses. I’ve had to call 911 several times in my life and each time the operator at least treated the situation with a sense of urgency. “Oh ummmmm…so…is he breathing? Oh ummmmm…so…is he stiff? Oh ummmmm…is he cold?”. Give me a fucking break.

Sadly I agree with Aaron. I live in Tweakerville, USA and I have no use for them. I’m sure he was a nice guy and he had a good thing going, but that’s what you get. Whenever shit like this happens, I don’t feel bad for the person. I feel bad for the real victims, like his family and an unborn child for fuck’s sake. Nice way to raise your kid.
