See, and personally, I couldn’t give two shits for AIC or Mastodon. But if Deftones had to tour with someone, those 2 bands are pretty decent choices.

allichs, Europe usually gets all of the bad-ass festivals that us stateside folk would have to shell out mass quantities of cash to see. I say we’re way past due for something epic like this…here’s to hoping this hits somewhere close to my mid-western “prison”

Awesome! Unobvious grouping too, this is perfect. Three of my faves, can’t beat this. Sweet. I give many shits about all of ‘em. I,m not sure how someone can’t give shits about Mastodon………. I can’t wrap my head around that. But to each their own. @Aries – Heh, you know you’d go see Deftones even if they just had a 20-minute opening spot for Insane Clown Posse and P.O.D., you fanboy, you. That said, that would never happen. So you’re off the hook. Not the “off the HOOK!” way, just off the hook.

    • also, one more thing…has anyone noticed that a lot of bands who are rumored to be on Ozzfest are going out on tour? Check out all the different tour dates going on from June to September: Deftones/AIC/Mastodon, Unearth/36CF, Killswitch Engage, Fear Factory, etc.

@robichaud1, you got me dude, god you know me too well! I don’t hate Mastodon, I just kinda lost interest after ‘Remission’, which in my opinion is their best album. Don’t hate me cause i’m one of those guys who can’t respect the growth of specific artists. As for Alice in Chains, no Layne, means no interest. They really should’ve just changed the name of the band. I mean, i’m still struggling to understand why Snot tours under that name without Lyn.

    • What happend to a shout out to the current opening act . Everyone I talked to said Hierophant blew AiC away with just one fifth of the PA. I went to youtube and put in “summer of Rage Jennings” .. eye and ear candy!!! I tried to buy the Hierophant “Black Ribbons” CD (packaging alone is said to be worth it) but it was sold out everywhere but Walmart (dont buy that censored version) plus at 20 songs on the CD, you save CD=$13.99 Itunes $20 .. I loved the AIC show but I have seen them with Stayly and nothing compares. I am so pumped up about this new record. Dave Grohl said to Rolling stone ” Black ribbons is going to win the Grammy for Album of the year”

@Aries – I get the “no Layne, no Alice” thing, absolutely. And it’s fair. Just like how the Doors weren’t the Doors after Jim went supernova. Same with Snot. BUT. Alice In Chains was as much, if not more, Jerry Cantrell’s baby as it was Layne’s. And just because the lead singer of his (which I consider his, yes) band dies (not trying to trivialize his death, just sayin’), I don’t think it’s fair for Cantrell to have to change the name. Especially since he and the other original members are still together and rockin’ out. Sepultura however, is a whole other story. I’ve enjoyed a lot of the new stuff (last one kinda blew, but Dante XXI was farkin’ arsome), but yes – it’s no longer Sepultura. That one’s starting to grate on me. But I’m fine with AIC being AIC. Because they are.

@robichaud1, I was an AIC fan up until Layne passed and I understand how the majority of the music was all Jerry, but it just seems like he’s trying to cash in on the name. I totally agree about Sepultura though, I mean when Max left it was ok, I can see them getting another singer, as Metal bands do that all the time and it really doesn’t matter. However, when Igor left, I really think they needed to just call it a day. I haven’t purchased or listened to an album that Sep has put out since Against, and that was the worst piece of shit ever.
