Them Crooked Vultures Play New Track, Nick Oliveri Rejoining Queens Of The Stone Age Rumors Heat Up

Them Crooked Vultures performed a new track by the name of “You Can’t Possibly Begin To Imagine” at their recent April 14th show at Club Nokia in Los Angeles, California. Various different angles of fan-filmed footage of the song can be found below.

Meanwhile, band frontman Josh Homme dedicated the song “New Fang” to former Queens Of The Stone Age bassist Nick Oliveri, explaining that the track was about “new beginnings”. This has led some to speculate that Oliveri may rejoin Queens Of The Stone Age for their upcoming live shows this summer.

Footage of the dedication can be found below:

New beginnings and a dedication is hardly a hint at Oliveri coming back… I hope he does, but I doubt it. Some of the Mondo Generator stuff he’s done is fuckin’ wild. Love it. @Fully – So skip it.

I really haven’t liked much QOTSA have done since Songs For The Deaf. I wish he would come back, because he was the cock and balls of that group. Sometimes a band member can leave and you’d never know it. Sometimes they leave and it fucks everything up, because you can tell what an influence and impact they had. To me this is one of those times. They’re not terrible, but they ventured off the path of rockin’ and need to find their way back.

@buttcrackguy – I don’t know if they’ve ventured that far off… Era Vulgaris is, yes, not as straightforward as Songs for the Deaf, but still awesome in its own right. And hey, it’ll make the return to form that much sweeter if (when!?) Oliveri comes back. And to all, I’m a ginormous QOTSA fan so forgive me if I’m splitting pubes here, but I think Homme’s the cock, and Oliveri’s the balls. Can you have one without the other? Yep. Are they just as awesome alone as they are together? Nnnno. They should get credit though, individually. For those who haven’t, I order you to check out Mondo Generator (even just one song – “So High, So Low” is my recommendation – Oliveri-era QOTSA for shizz.) In closing, the full package will one day be back together, and we’ll have trouble walking once again. I’m stopping here because this is starting to sound reeeaallly gay. Check out Mondo!

    • Please let Nick come back, I love QOTSA whatever but like people said Nick was incredible in the band, I love every one of their albums but I just can’t get into the newer lineup, fertita and shuman that is. They need nick and mark back and they need to make a new album, also is anyone else gutted that josh isn’t going to play with Kyuss lives even though garcia brant and nick are?
