Deftones Move Up The Release Of “Diamond Eyes”, Post Teaser Video For Title Track Online

According to newly released promotional materials, the Deftones have brought forward the release date of their new album “Diamond Eyes” to May 04th. The move is more than likely a response to the recent leaking of the effort to the internet, which was allegedly done by an undisclosed music website writer.

In addition to the new date, the band have begun pre-orders for “Diamond Eyes” online here. Those who partake will be treated to an instant bonus download of the M83 remix of the album track, “Rocket Skates“.

The aforementioned remix is also expected to serve as a downloadable b-side to the bands upcoming “Rocket Skate” 7″ vinyl outing which will see a release on April 17th as part of “Record Store Day“. The band themselves recently posted a picture of the “Rocket Skates” 7″ online here.

In the meantime, a teaser video for the title track to “Diamond Eyes“, which is also its first official single, can be found below.

    • How about they just pull a Thrice and move the digital release of the album to next week? Having to wait another month for a legit release seems way too long a wait for me and more than likely many others.

I love these albums leaking early, but remember how exciting it was to have to wait for an album to be released. My friends and I used to have like record release parties, drink some brew, smoke, maybe some other things, and listen to the album, kinda miss that…

Yeah it sucks those days are gone. I’m still pretty old school in that I refuse to download music from my favorite bands. Kids are too fat and lazy nowadays to care about the aesthetics behind albums. The artwork, liner notes, seeing who mixed and produced the album. Not to mention caring about giving the artists their due. But it’s not news that the music industry is in the shitter.
      Thanks Bin Laden.

Those days don’t have to be gone, people! Show some fuckin’ self-restraint! Sure, part of the reason I’ve never jumped on album leaks is because I’m somewhat computer-tarded – but the rest of the reason is just what jay’s saying. It IS exciting to wait 2 months for it, buy a fresh copy, and rip off the cellophane. You’re gonna hear it eventually, why not do yourself – and the band – a favour and wait for it. The payoff is always better. Awright I’m done preaching. Can’t wait till May 4th!

By far the worst deftones album. As Steph’s guitar tuning gets lower and lower, the deftones are producing worse and worse music. This album sounds like all the b-sides from SNW. I’m eager to hear eros.

@joshuathomas, you’re oh so wrong, I’d say you’re in the very small majority who believes this album isn’t anything but a return to form after two less than amazing albums (Selftitled/SNW). I once again called that they would bump up the release because of the leak, knowing full well that every fan boy with a computer has the album already, they need to ensure they actually will sell some of them. I personally download everything, but I always purchase the CD version of the album upon release date, mainly because I release that many artists need the support to continue making music. Let’s be honest though, I’d say 90% of record contracts now a days ensure the artists makes literally nothing but a tiny percentage of the actual physical CD sales. The bands still continue to make their money on merchandise, and touring. To try and blame the digital age on the people who are stealing music online is just narrow minded. Unless the artist/band themselves has a unique contract, or is distributing their music themselves, it’s not going to make a shred of difference that some 13 year old Cheetos eating Warcraft fiend is stealing the new Bieber album. What matters is that you go see that band play live when they come through on tour, and you buy a t-shirt and hoodie.

That being said, I do miss waiting for a bands CD to come out, and then bringing it over to a buddies, and listening to the entire album from start to finish, then discussing it. But of course, when I was a teenager, the Internet was just getting off the ground. Times changes people, and if you can’t handle how this generation deals with music, then maybe you should go live in the Congo where they don’t have the net.

    • I’ve had the whole new album for a week now but I’m still going to buy it when it’s in stores. Only few bands I actually go grab the actual CD for and Deftones are one of ‘em. The CD is not their best work but is new and interesting. I gotta listen to it a few more times its still too fresh to me..maybe I’ll change my mind.

    • Yeah, I miss the days of buying records blind and hating them too. It sucks I don’t get to spend 8 bucks on an album that I only like 3 songs from anymore.

      ;)

Seriously. I heard it already, I know what I’m getting and guess what, when May 4th comes around I’m picking it up.

I you know your shit is good, what are you worried about?
You decided to make a living doing something that depends on public opinion. You took a risk. Nobody seems able to accept that anymore.

@Aries Veil, small majority? What does that even mean? I don’t feel guily for downloading it, since Ive shelled out plenty of cash for the deftones over the years. I’m just bummed about how terrible this album actually is. Theres not a whole lot of bands I get excited over nowadays.

It was a spelling mistake you fucking retard, obviously I ment small minority. Thanks for the spell check though! ;)

Once again, I’d say 90% of the posters on this news website are in agreement the album is really, really good. Myself included. I’ve also shelled out the cash to buy Deftones merchandise, see them live a half dozen times, and purchase all of their CD’s, and in White Pony’s case, several versions of the CD.

It’s too bad you’re so disenfranchised with music today, because personally, I think this year has given us a ton of great albums by established artists :

Coheed and Cambria – Year of The Black Rainbow
Dillinger Escape Plan – Option Paralysis
      Deftones – Diamond Eyes
From First To Last – To The Wolves

All very respectable and enjoyable albums, at least to me. And those are but a few whom have been released, or will officially be released in 2010.

I’m going to assume, you don’t like any of those albums, or artists, but then that begs the question as to why you’re even on theprp.com in the first place?

      Thoughts?

      Diamond Eyes is really good.

I consider Around the Fur to be the best Deftones album, it’s one of the most perfect albums I’ve ever listened to; from artwork to track order to unreleased b-sides, Around the Fur created a legacy.

I like Diamond Eyes quite a bit; I would put it just about equal to Adrenaline and White Pony and I can tell it will get better with time. The self-titled gets better every time I listen to it, but it’s clearly behind Adrenaline and White Pony. I like Saturday Night Wrist, but the rocking heavy songs sort of miss the vibe; the change in production methods really hurt the cohesiveness of that album. There’s some beautiful stuff on Wrist, some of the most beautiful songs the Deftones have ever done, but it’s clearly lacking in overall quality.
Diamond Eyes is very cohesive, perhaps it’s too tight. The stop and go staccato guitars are great. The drums sound good (one of the most important traits for a Deftones album) Chino’s voice is in top form and the lyrics are poetic art. Sergio’s bass and Frank’s aural textures are spot on. I would have loved for them to tackle a longer song, something in the 7 minute plus range, but not a Pink Maggit clone. The band just sounds so much more on their game than Saturday Night Wrist. Diamond Eyes: I love it, I’ll buy at least two copies and I hope there’s a massive hidden track (I’ve always loved Damone on Around the Fur) that surprises the hell out of all of us.

Eros will definitely be an interesting listen, but we must be strong, we must pray for Chi, and we must wait for the surprises it has in store for us. And you know damn well I’ll buy a copy or two.

@kmfcm, good point, the days of buying a shitty album are over. @aries veil, we’re like musical peas in a pod, this spring has been great for new albums (actually waiting for Joshua Thomas to point out that technically it’s not Spring yet, got you larry literal). The new Coheed is growing on me (wasn’t crazy about it at first, but starting to love it). The new Dillinger fucking rules. Diamond Eyes may be the best Deftones album to date, seriously. People need to understand bands need to evolve, I love the old stuff, but if they kept making Adrenalines and Around The Furs they would be a footnote. Vocally, and lyrically Chino has never been better, the music is more interesting thanks to more unique time signatures, killer riffs, and the unsung hero of the album, Frank Delgado. With this album they absolutely shattered every expectation I had, and put them in position to be one of most important bands in heavy music, ever. Word is “Eros” will see release 4th quarter this year, if true, 2010 has truly become the year of the Deftones, if it hasn’t already…

@Aries Veil, What’s with the childish insults? You don’t like my opinion, and that’s fine. You should learn to deal with it in a grown up way. I think people on here agree about the album being good because they’re afraid to admit just how bad their precious band is getting. I was the same way with SNW. I’m just not in denial anymore. This album is complete crap. I’ve had it on in my car for the past week, just trying to get myself to like it, but it just isn’t working. I was hoping that maybe they leaked eros and just had people believe that they were getting Diamond Eyes, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. This will be the first Deftones album that I don’t purchase. I’m on theprp to get news on the few bands I still care about, not that it makes any difference to you. Good to hear Reznor has some new tricks up his sleeve. And I’m still impatiently waiting for Glassjaw’s 3rd full length. How about you? You patrolling the message boards, looking for anyone with a difference in opinion?

@ joshuathomas Childish insults? Calling you a retard for disagree’ing wasn’t an insult man, it was simply stating the obvious. I realize everyone is entitled to their own opinion about the new Deftones album, but AGAIN, it appears YOU are the only one who doesn’t like it. I can understand that not everyone is going to enjoy it, and that’s fine, but to hate on it and call it crap is simply blowing my mind. It’s by far above and beyond both the self titled and SNW in song writing, vocal delivery, and general song structure. The album flows from track to track better than perhaps any Deftones album, and it’s down tuned cohesiveness seems to almost improve on the chemistry the band has.

As far as looking for a difference of opinion, No, I’m not trolling the forums here, or the news postings looking to argue, i’m simply in shock you feel that it’s this bad. I agree that I’m very excited for Reznors new material, and other than the Deftones, Glassjaw has been one of my favorite artists ever. I look forward to them finally putting out a new full length. We appear to disagree intently on Deftones, but agree on other artists. Making it that much more difficult to call you childish and immature names. ;(

“think people on here agree about the album being good because they’re afraid to admit just how bad their precious band is getting” well congratulations there sir…you just completely lost whatever credibility you thought you had with that ignorant statement. Could it be that people are saying the album is good because it actually IS? Seriously, if you are not into the Deftones anymore that’s fine, then obviously you wouldn’t care about any new updates on this record. Therefore, just stay out of this forum…and go to some other band that you care about, such as NIN or Glassjaw…but stop trolling here because you make yourself look like a total jackass -end-

    • I’m baffled at how many people dislike SNW and self-titled. Those records pulled me back in when I was getting over deftones (I’m one of the few who doesn’t think of White Pony as being their best). Those records created atmosphere and had dynamics that were more pronounced. I will always state my love for Around the Fur but White Pony was their album that I loved a lot at first and then with more and more listens grew to be bored with it. To me it didn’t flow right, it was too uneven. I know I’m in the minority with that opinion but it just became average compared to Adrenaline and ATF. I love the song Boys Republic off White Pony though.

That was on the limited edition of White Pony. I originally had the copy without “Back To School (Mini Maggit)” on it…but it broke, so I just have the re-release now. Honestly I don’t have a least favorite Deftones album strangely enough, but “Around The Fur” is still my favorite. Self-titled imo was their darkest-sounding album to date, not like there’s anything wrong with that.:)

I like all the Deftones albums except for Saturday Night Wrist. That album was doomed from the begining. They were on the verge of breaking up. Chino left in the the middle of recording sessions to do Team Sleep (which was phenomenal, by the way). Then they scrap the original recordings and re-record with Shawn from Far. He helps co-write some of the songs because apparently they had writers block. It was just not a good time for the Deftones to release an album. I personally like Around he Fur the best. White Pony was good too. Even their self titled album was decent. Diamond Eyes is a great move forward. It mixes the agressiveness of Around The Fur and the ambience of White Pony.

As far as the leak goes, sucks for them. I never buy CDs anymore. But if I like the album, I will buy it on vinyl. It’s more aesthically pleasing for me. Plus having something that not many people have is alway nice to show off. Most importantly, the recording sounds a lot warmer than a digital copy. I’m definitely getting up early to go out and get their limited edition seven-inch single of Rocket Skates. Hopefully the store employees don’t snag them all for themselves.

I hate when the local record shop nerds do that shit. I’m going to be there when it opens to make sure I secure at least a copy.

I think almost everyone is in agreement that ATF is the pinnacle album for the Deftones. I’ve loved all of their records at different times in my life, but I can put on ATF anytime, and it will still give me goosebumps, especially Lotion.

The entire love for the Deftones is that they never seem to write the same song, at least not in the same sense the 123023794 emo bands seem to do these days. I mean, you can buy a Saosin record, or a Thursday record and you pretty much know all the songs will have the same verse, soaring chorus, and then bridge. I don’t know why, but even the worst Deftones song is still better than the best [Insert Emo/Screamo Band here] song.

Can one of you young chaps buy me one and post it to me? ;) -Incidentally, I was rummaging around and found a collection of officially branded black and red White Pony balloons from the records release party. Ah memories. And speaking of which, at the time I went a little nuts and I got 2 copies each of the red and black limited edition release, the silver cover copy and the re-released white covered copy….and the double vinyl of White Pony.

The Deftones have been my favorite band in the world since I first saw them in 1994. I used to listen to (like) Linus EVERY single day of my life for over a year (it was stuck in my cassette deck of my car) and I never thought they would actually make it big, but I loved them. When I saw them in Ventura a year and a half ago, I was in line outside the theater next to their bus and the window slid open, and there was Chino. He flashed me a peace sign and shut the window a second later. One of the highlights of my life. What I’m getting at is that I love the band, and I’ve been with them for so long that anything they do, I’m going to love, but I’ll admit this isn’t the best album they’ve ever put out. I actually love Linus, Adrenaline, and Around The Fur the best. I don’t mind somebody knocking Diamond Eyes, it’s the band evolved, but it’s not the old school Deftones. Unfortunately a lot of people always want more of the old, shit ask any Metallica fan, but that’s just not the way it works. When you love a band like I do this one, it doesn’t matter if it’s their “best” because all we want is new material. When we see them live, they’re still going to play all the old shit, so it doesn’t matter if the new album has some stinkers, we’re never going to hear them live. I guarantee when I see them next, I’m not going to hear more than three songs from Diamond Eyes.

    • Whilst we’re reminiscing –
1998 – ‘World Annihilation Tour ‘ – this was the first time they’d been to this fair land. Obviously coming off the back of the mega success of ATF, they were on fire. Hanging out with the guys at The Iron Duke hotel 3 nights in a row. I was there for all 3 nights. A tinny sweatbox of a club. Memories of Stef eating Big Mac’s and talking about weed and BMXing and Chino slinging blue Gatorade and vodka, Chi making sure he had his incense lit before the start of their set. My highlight was being pulled up over the bank of foldbacks by Chino when they played MX on the second night and got to shout/talk along through the calling/response part of the chorus. Epic memory.

THAT was how it all started.

@peanutbuttercrunch, it’s a fanboy’s responsibility to defend their cause. Of course everybody in here is going to support the album. I just think there’s plenty of room to debate, instead of just getting together and agreeing on how awesome everything is and being pleased with each other’s identical opinions. I’m a huge deftones fan. Ive been to at least 2 dozen shows, smoked pot with steph at ozzfest while rocking out to Meshuggah, bought each album more than once. I just think they’re going too far. Can everybody at least agree that their first 3 albums are superior to their last 3 outings? The way I feel about them, is the way I felt about Lucas killing the star wars trilogy. Yeah, the last 3 are star wars movies, but they’re missing the same magic as the original 3. The new album is slow and the songs kind of blend in together, lacking the individual identity I loved from the deftones. Aside from the chorus on the title track, there aren’t any moments that wow me. Abe’s drums are wonderful, as expected, but they don’t make up for the lethargic guitars. In high school, I used to sit in my room and learn all of steph’s guitar riffs from ATF and Adrenaline. Now, I’m having a hard time finding anything interesting, as far as guitars go. Chino does a good job, but he can only do so much with the music he’s provided with.
All in all, I’m still a fan. Went to 2 benefit shows for Chi, and I’ll probably still catch them on the support tour for this album.

Ok here is my 2 epic memories of Deftones. The first festival I ever went to was Ozzfest 99 in Vancouver. There was 2 – 15 passenger vans of like minded metal fans that went from Saskatoon to Vancouver (stopping only for alcohol and pee breaks), and the majority of the excitment was for Slipknot, and System of Down, as well as the long heralded Black Sabbath reunion. Of course for me, it was all about Deftones. As many of you are already aware, the tones were just about to release White Pony, and were playing ‘Korea’ live on the Ozzfest. When they were about to start, I had pushed my way as close to the stage as possible, and was literally 10-15 feet away from Chino near the front. It wasn’t until the start of ‘My Own Summer’, a few songs into the set that I had my first Deftones moment. Chino (in classic Chino fashion) jumped clear off the stage into the crowd during the 2nd chorus, and landed right above me, the crowd holding him up, and was shoving the mic directly into my face during the scream back of the chorus, which of course I screamed my hardest to fufill. It was truly mindblowing, my favorite vocalist, of my favorite band, and out of all 20,000 people in that crowd, I was the one who was given this honor. I literally almost cried after I was so excited. The reason I mentioned that I came to Ozzfest with 25 other people, was that during the set, he did the same thing on the other side of the stage, jumping into the crowd and shoving the mic in front of a fan to scream the chorus of ’7 words’. It turned out this was a buddy of mine that came down on the journey that was awarded that honor. Truly an epic memory that I will never forget.
The second, and more important moment was in 2001, when me and a friend jumped in his car, and went to watch Deftones start their headlining tour for Pony, with Glassjaw opening up. This was shortly after EYEWTKAS was released and it was kicking my ass. I worked briefly for RoadRunner in Saskatchewan as a street team coordinator and promoted their releases at a local metal night, and that hook up helped get us Tickets for a show at the Palace in L.A.. This was my first time in California, without the family, and as soon as we rolled into San Fran, we went down to Market Street, and stood outside the legendary WarField Theatre where the Marquee had ‘Deftones w/GlassJaw’ on it. We didn’t have tickets to that specific show, but just being there was cool. We walked down the street a few blocks, and this guy sitting on the sidewalk noticed my friends Deftones windbreaker, and asked us if we were going to the show tomorrow. We immediatly told him we didn’t have tickets, but we were excited for the one in L.A., and in Vegas. He knew right off the bat we were Canadian (damn accent!) and told us to hold up, just then, Daryl, Beck, and a few of there assorted friends walked out of the GAP (apparently shopping for shitty clothes?). This guy we were talking to was the guitar tech, and roadie for GJ, and me and my friend were in shock, as we were standing right next to this band that had been totally obssessing us for the 72 hours it took to drive there. Needless to say, this guy told Beck we drove all the way to Canada to see them play with Deftones, Beck looked at Daryl and the next thing you know they asked us to hang out in San Fran for the night and come to the show, they were guest listing us. I was just floored, and couldn’t say anything but “thank you, so much”, we chatted briefly, and to be honest I don’t know if I really asked any questions. Then we went our seperate ways. Me and my buddy got a hotel right outside San Fran in Oakland and went to the show, and damn wouldn’t you know it, they did Guest List us. At the end of the show, which was amazing, we were on our way out, and ran into Beck as he was heading backstage. He grabbed me and gave me a Press Pass, but it was only 1, so we decided if we both couldn’t get backstage, that neither of us would, as we were walking out, we saw Beck run into the roadie we met the day before, and he got a 2nd press pass from him for my friend.
This is the night I met the Deftones for the first and only time, we sat and spoke with Chi briefly, and I had them all sign my old school Adrenaline shirt (with the screaming kitten logo). Needless to say, I returned home from the trip, and had the screaming kitten logo from the shirt tattoo’d on my left calf to honour the amazing trip I had. Truly one of the best memories of my life.

once again joshuathomas all credibility was lost the moment you said ““think people on here agree about the album being good because they’re afraid to admit just how bad their precious band is getting.” Also heres yet another one “it’s a fanboy’s responsibility to defend their cause. Of course everybody in here is going to support the album. I just think there’s plenty of room to debate, instead of just getting together and agreeing on how awesome everything is and being pleased with each other’s identical opinions.” So let me get this straight…everyone in here that agrees that the album is good is nothing more than a fanboy that doesn’t want to *ahem* “accept the ‘fact’ this record sucks” as you so eloquently put it? Dude…get this straight once and for all. No one in here is a fanboy, if the record actually sucked…I am quite positive A LOT more people in here would be saying so. But they aren’t, and why? Because like I said, it’s a damn fine album. And this album sounds different from their other work…which is a GOOD thing. Given the fact that The Deftones can make each album of theirs sound different from the one before it…thats known as evolution.

Credibility? What kind of cred are we talking here? I mean, this is an anonymous message board for people to comment on music. What kind of credibility does one need to voice an opinion on the internet? Are we keeping score here? How many songs from this album would you put on a best of album containing 14 of their best tracks? Be honest. How many songs from this album are strong enough for you to consider it to be some of their best work? Although none of them are “bad” songs, there aren’t many defining or memorable points. You dig? I’m sorry that my standards are so high for my favorite artists.
And who the fuck is ‘dicksnbabies’ to decide who is credible? Are you the commander of the internet?

No. You’re purposely twisting my words, but I’ll play along. Ive seen plenty of crappy performances by the band. It’s just a risk you take when going to a show. Like I’ve mentioned numerous times previously, I’m a huge fan of the deftones, just not a fan of thier latest album. Forgive me for being disappointed in an album Ive waited years for. I don’t have to worship evey bit of product that has the band’s name on it to be considered a fan. Do you enjoy every album ever put out by every band you’ve ever followed? Glassjaw is the only band that comes to mind, but then again, they only have 2 albums.

Oh you got me, i’m facetious my friend. I know for a fact that Deftones can be terrible live, and having seen them over a half dozen times through the years, I’ve also seen them slay. I’m not at all saying you should love every Deftones song ever, but I think you’re really missing the mark with your review of DE. Let’s be frank, the album is superior to SNW, and I’d say 90% of true fans would admit that. As far as comparing it the S/T it’s miles ahead in cohesiveness, it’s slightly slower, and less heavy than the S/T, but in terms of song structures, and melody, it’s miles head. Now, that being said, if someone said you get one Deftones album for the rest of your life, which one do you want, i’m still taking ATF.

I think everyone who has half a brain, and any musical taste loves GJ.

By the way, if they don’t make a video for ‘Beauty School’ off DE, then it will truly be a tragedy.

    • Oh man I didn’t know so many people had it already… This is like what happened when the wolverine movie leaked, eveybody realized that it was a bad movie before it even came out. Poor deftones. Maybe they need chi cheng to write good music!! haha just kidding… kind of…

    • Honestly, I went overboard with my negative review. I’m still bummed about it, though. This is 2 albums in a row that Ive been totally let down by. As an album, I’d say its a little better than SNW, but thats only because there are a few songs on that album that I just cant stomach to hear. I can listen to DE all the way through, without feeling uncomfortable. It’s just missing those awesome moments. ‘Beware’ gives me the chills to the bone, every time I hear that drum beat with the piano. DE is filled with solid songs, just nothing I’d write home about. When the album ends, I’m left wondering where those outstanding songs are. While self titled doesn’t flow as well as DE, it still has those few amazing songs that DE just doesn’t have. If I had to take one deftones album for the rest of my life, I’d have to lean towards ATF, but I’d really miss White Pony.
Beauty School is one of the stronger songs, but I like Risk a little more.

I didn’t like SNW much either. Theres a few songs on there that I actually have to skip. I actually like the self titled album, although it did take some growing on me. Hexagram and Minerva are both stronger than any song on DE, in my opinion. If I had to pick one album, it would be white pony, but I do love ATF.
Beauty School is one of the best songs from the album. My girlfriend loves it.

“How many songs from this album would you put on a best of album containing 14 of their best tracks? Be honest. How many songs from this album are strong enough for you to consider it to be some of their best work?”

Well first off…a greatest hits album wouldn’t matter…a greatest hits album is nothing more than a cash-in most of the time. But that being said, hypothetically speaking…”Diamond Eyes” “Rocket Skates” “Beauty School” and “You’ve Seen the Butcher” would belong on there. As far as your latter question…dude that’s a stupid question…straight up..all of the songs on that album are strong enough to be considered some of their best work by me. If that wasn’t the case I wouldn’t have said it is some of their best work in so many words. And yes credibility helps when you voice your opinion, otherwise people won’t take you seriously…and while you can continue to voice your opinion you’d just be wasting yours…and infinitely worse…everyone else’s time. It’s not about keeping score, it’s about not speaking for everyone else and accusing people of liking the album because they fear of saying something horrible about the band. You dig? I hope so.

“undisclosed music website writer” – somebody in a thread said that this was posted somewhere by a person with the username Skwerl.

“this is not a demo. i know, because i made these files. i did not intend for them to wind up all over the internet, but if you must know, i recorded it, analog, from an encrypted stream of the final retail version of the album provided by reprise. yes, there are a couple gmail chat bleeps in track 4.”

Thats either the dude that leaked GnR or somebody pretending to be him. Anyone know if it’s really him?

@peanutbuttercrunch, well that’s just your opinion. See how that works? You know I didn’t mean greatest hits, as in, all the radio singles. I meant a mixed cd with your 14 favorite songs from the band. I’m just saying, nothing from this album would make it on mine. I’m sorry for wasting your meaningless internet chat time. You probably could be saving babies from burning houses, if I didn’t make you read my posts. And for that, I apologize to all the burn victims. You dig? I know I sure do :) Toodles

Your guys comments are entertaining for my boredom at work :) Can’t we all just got a bong? And let everyone have their OWN opinion, hate it, love it, blow it, suck it wait nvrmnd……. Just sad that I can’t actually stream any of the tunes so I have yet to hear any of it (not even supposed to be on this site at work but i’m a music junkie and my boss can suck it). Hope its at least in the middle of all ur reviews for me. HUGE Deftones fan, so sad that chi was in a coma but with the love hopefully he’ll snap out of it and start back up playin bass. I don’t think this album can be as bad as SNW tho, it was still ok, but it was leaning more towards Chino’s side project Team Sleep and his screaming vocals were HORRIBLE, it sounds almost painful to hear him tear up his throat, but over 10 years of that i’m sure he can’t scream forever :( No matter how many people think this new ablum sucks or its not up to ‘par’ to the old Deftones, they are still gonna kickass sellin it cuz i’m with buttcrackguy on if You love a band, even if they put out some stinkers, your still gonna love the band. They can’t be perfect ALL the time but Come on guys, its the DEFTONES!!!! better get out the Chino skater tube socks and rock out !

    • joshuathomas is freakin’ highlarious!!! Seriously, the dude makes me lol. The album is just fine. It’s not the greatest deftones, but it beats 99% of the crap coming out these days. Agree with me on that Joshy? ;)

@Bitter Old Man, Hmmmn, I do happen to be a fledgling writer, would you read a book about my exploits, as boring and nostaligic as they would be? LOL! I seriously doubt that. I just thought, since we were talking Deftones stories, that I might throw in my 2 cents. Looking back on the post, it appears to be more like 20 dollars.

@Ms.Jade, thank you :) And, yes, I agree that Diamond Eyes is better than most everything else I’ve heard lately. It’s grown on me quite a bit. I’m just gonna shut my yap about it and be happy that I have some new music to listen to. Toodles ;)
