Primus have issued another update on the health of their drummer Tim Alexander, who suffered a heart attack on July 15th and underwent triple bypass surgery on July 21st. Here’s their statement:
“On July 15th, Tim suffered a heart attack. It was discovered that there were three blockages near his heart. On July 21, triple bypass surgery was performed to remove the blockages. The Mighty “Herb” has pulled through surgery, the blockage from his heart has been removed with no complications
He is now home resting and beginning his recovery process. Tim will be back in good health and ready to go in October.
Due to Tim‘s health we have decided to cancel the shows in Maplewood, Fargo and Clive. Tim is recuperating fast and furious and making progress every day, but its not realistic to think he can be ready to play 2 sets in September. We’ll have a special announcement about Riot Fest in Chicago and Denver in the next few weeks. Refunds will be available for the three shows at point of purchase.”
Yesterday Primus unveiled their upcoming ‘Charlie And The Chocolate Factory‘-themed album and tour, both of which are coming in October.
