Oh, Sleeper have opted to go the crowdfunding route for a new concept EP, a new trailer and some van repairs. The group have launched this Indiegogo campaign to help raise their goal of $30,000 USD. If successful, they plan to once again enter the studio with producer Andreas Magnusson (The Black Dahlia Murder, Impending Doom) to track the EP.
Band frontman Micah Kinard said of the campaign:
“We are so excited, anxious, nervous and stoked to venture out with something like this. We know there are a lot of great methods of making and delivering music these days. After talking to several labels and looking at all of the ‘crowd-funding’ options, we really felt like Indiegogo was the right place to make our next move. We have gotten such passionate responses from our fans over the years, we are so excited to get even closer to them now.”
Seeing the band go the crowdfunding route is not a surprise given their guitarist Shane Blay‘s explanation of mid-level bands making no money from a few years back. This summer will find Oh, Sleeper on the road as part of the ‘Vans Warped Tour‘. Meanwhile, the below video for the campaign was also posted.
