Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi recently chatted with the BBC about his contributions to this years ‘Eurovision‘ song contest. Iommi penned a ‘rock ballad’ titled “Lonely Planet“, which will be performed at this years contest by Armenian outfit Dorians.
Iommi—who previously teamed with Queen‘s Brian May for some charity work and the like in Armenia—was approached by the Armenian entry and decided to send a song over for usage in the contest.
Speaking of the experience, he offered:
“I first said, ‘oh God, I don’t know’ – it seemed really strange, me doing a Eurovision song, I don’t usually do that. But I said, ‘I’ve got a rock ballad, I’ll send it over.”
