Phil Anselmo (Down, ex-Pantera) recently shared some more info regarding his upcoming split with Warbeast—who are signed to his own Housecore Records label. According Anselmo, the split will be titled “War Of The Gargantuas“.
Speaking with Loudwire, Anselmo had the following to say of it:
“…I think the first order at hand between Warbeast and myself is that we’re doing a split both of us, two songs and it’s called ‘War of the Gargantuas.’ I giggle because it’s a nod towards the 1960’s film, a Japanese film called ‘War of the Gargantuas.’ It’s, as many things have been throughout, it’s sort of an inside joke between both bands and very much worth it for the old intestinal fuckin’ fortitude.
Either way I picked two of the most straight on songs out of my solo stuff, the full length is pretty chaotic – sometime next year I would say March at the latest we’ll get some solo bullshit going your way.”
Anselmo‘s contributions to the effort will be taken from his long-awaited new solo album “Walk Through Exits Only“. According to him, the material for that outing is currently tracked and just needs to be mixed. Warbeast previously revealed that their songs “It” and “Birth Of A Psycho” will appear on the aforementioned split.
