Soundgarden frontman Chris Cornell had some less than flattering things to say from the stage during his bands recent “Big Day Out” performance in the Gold Coast, Australia.
Fellow performer Kanye West allegedly held up his own set, causing his soundcheck to drown out some of Soundgarden‘s performance. This angered Cornell, who said from the stage:
“Sounds like there’s children playing music there, retarded children, retarded as in held back. There’s no other word for it.”
Cornell has since taken to his Twitter to defend his comments, stating:
“My comments @ BDO were directed solely at inadequate tour production. Kanye had nothing to do with it! We love him”
