The Lostprophets continue to hammer away at their long-in-the-works new album. A recent update on that and their upcoming touring plans has been posted over at Lostprophets.com and reads as follows:
“We know the past year has seemed quiet on our front. It hasn’t been. From pretty much the minute we stepped offstage in the summer of 2010, we dove into writing and recording album #5. It was equal parts exciting and draining and left us with a tremendous cache of energy that was aching to get out onstage.
The shows we played this past August were just what we needed. Getting out of the studio and into your faces reminded us why we’d been working so hard all year (and all our lives, really). Whether you saw us in a field or in a sweaty club, we hope it was as invigorating an experience for you as it was for us. We seriously can’t thank you enough for the support and patience.
For the past month, we’ve been in and out of the studio putting some finishing touches on the new album. If all goes to plan, it should be in your ears early next year. Fingers fucking crossed. Once that happens, we’ll get back on the road something proper. To those people who were whinging about us skipping over their towns… we know we’ve got making up to do.
And you lot overseas… Mexico… South America… etc, etc… the noise you’ve been making on our Facebook and Twitter is not going unnoticed. We are fully aware, for instance, that we haven’t played a gig in America in a loooonng time. This will be fixed. So long as you want us, we will be back.
In the meantime, we have one big announcement that we are finally able to share. AUSTRALIA, WE ARE COMING. Consider us officially part of Soundwave Festival 2012.
