Wisdom In Chains have paid tribute to late Sick Of It All vocalist Lou Koller with their new track, “What This Means (For Lou)“. That song finds Wisdom In Chains teamed up with Street Dogs and Michael McColgan And The Bombsquad. Wisdom In Chains guitarist/vocalist Richie Krutch said of honoring the aforementioned late NYHC legend with this track:
“We had the music down for this for awhile, more of a mid paced street rock vibe. We knew we wanted a melodic memorable type vibe for this. Awhile ago we played with Michael McColgan and The Bomb Squad, they played the legendary Dropkicks Do or Die album front to back at this show.
We always wanted to collaborate with him, his voice and style rule, so we reached out, and he was down! Also around the time we wrote this, Lou from SOIA was heavily in our thoughts, we would play Step Down every night in tour and dedicate it to him. He was fighting for his life, we wanted to show the band the respect and love we had for them, so Frankie put in a mention.
The song is about HC shows, and it’s importance in our scene, so of course we had to mention Sick of it All, after all, the Song Chasing The Dragon is a complete tribute to them. Unfortunately we never got a chance to let Lou hear this track. Another little piece of information, the intro of this song starts with Vinny Stigma from Agnostic Front yelling ‘LETS GO TO THE HARDCORE SHOW.'”
