Funk metal supergroup Infectious Grooves will be playing a 35th anniversary show for their first album, “The Plague That Makes Your Booty Move… It’s The Infectious Grooves“, this fall. That concert has been booked for November 28th at The Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles, CA. Participants confirmed for this latest set from the band include the usual Suicidal Tendencies vets Mike Muir, Dean Pleasants and Robert Trujillo (who of course went on to join Metallica and Ozzy Osbourne). Guitarist Dave Kushner (ex-Velvet Revolver, etc.) will also be back to partake in the show, with Avenged Sevenfold drummer Brooks Wackerman once again stepping behind the kit this time out. Jay Weinberg (ex-Slipknot, etc.) had previously been holding down that latter role in recent years.
The band said of this show:
“It’s a Fonda Theater deja vu! November 28th at the Fonda Theatre. Infectious Grooves playing their entire first album to celebrate its 35th Anniversary.
Thanks for all the people that came out to get Cyco October 1st with ST to help get the Fonda Theater 100th Anniversary off to a slamming STart.
Now Infectious Grooves is coming back to Funk it Up with another special anniversary show.
35 Years ago, the first IG album, “The Plague that makes your booty move…it’s the Infectious Grooves” kicked up the hyper green funk.
November 28th, Mike Muir, Robert Trujillo, Dean Pleasants, Brooks Wackerman and Dave Kushner are gonna play the entire first album, along with of course some other high octane jams!
And definitely expect a surprise or two, as I.G. is gonna take the festivities to new heights, cause you know “These Freaks are here to Party” and we hope you come along and party with us too!
Tickets on sale this Friday 7:00 AM PST!”
