Nü-metal outfit Saliva have issued a music video for their song “Rivers“. The platinum-certified outfit included that track on their latest album “Breaking Through“, which arrived this past August. It was penned as an ode to their late friend, Limp Bizkit bassist Sam Rivers, who died at the age of 48 a year ago today, October 18th.
Saliva vocalist Bobby Amaru and Rivers launched the project SLEEPKILLERS together back in 2019. Rivers also helped get another Amaru project off the ground, Burn Season. That group also featured current Saliva bassist/vocalist Brad Stewart. Gray Taylors helmed the below video that newly accompanies this tribute.
Amaru stated:
“‘Rivers‘ was written in honor of my late friend Sam Rivers, who passed away last October. He was a huge inspiration to me, and someone who helped shape my path very early in my career.
“When I sat down to write this song, I kept coming back to the idea that rivers never truly die; they just keep rolling on. To me, that felt like the perfect metaphor for a life well lived. This song is my way of honoring him, and reminding people that while we may lose someone physically, the legacy they leave behind keeps moving forward, just like a river.”
