Nü-metal stars Linkin Park have already been in the lab working on new songs for their eventual follow-up to their 2024 comeback album “From Zero“. A new interview with NME found the band’s DJ Joe Hahn touch upon what they’ve been up to since wrapping the tour cycle for that aforementioned album. Notably, that trek was proclaimed by Billboard to be the band’s most successful tour yet, grossing $251 million with some 2.2 million tickets sold.
When asked if he and his bandmates had been working on music lately, Hahn responded:
“Yeah, because we really enjoy being around each other, and we especially love the creation side of things and making music. When we were touring in different cities, if there was a day off, we would go into studios just to tinker around with stuff. And when we finished touring, we decided to take a month off because we needed a break, but then we jumped right back into the studio.”
As for it if the group are eyeing another album, Hahn offered:
“Oh, yeah… and it’s going to be really slow and boring, and very polarising to everyone [Laughs].”
Presumably those sessions are currently on hold, as the band have been doing the press rounds in recent weeks to lead in to tomorrow’s (September 30th) premiere of their new live film/documentary. Hahn directed that feature, which pairs the tale of their comeback from the tragedy of losing vocalist Chester Bennington with live footage from a November 15th, 2024 show the band played at Allianz Parque in São Paulo, Brazil. An official soundtrack for that film arrived late last week.
