Psych rock duo Angine de Poitrine took home the Polaris Music Prize last night, September 22nd, for their latest release, “Vol. II“. That award comes with a $50,000 CAD bonus and seeks to declare the best Canadian album of the year annually.
“Vol. II” beat out recent releases from Peaches, Tanya Tagaq, Aquakultre, Begonia and more for that honor. The masked pair also netted an additional $10,000 CAD for their track “Fabienk“, which scored the Polaris Song Prize. That song faced off against singles from PUP, Charlotte Cornfield and more.
Angine de Poitrine were in attendance during last night’s awards ceremony at Massey Hall in Toronto, ON and performed their aforementioned track, with footage available below:
