Work continues on Slipknot‘s new record in the wake of the band firing longtime turntablist Sid Wilson. It was revealed back in July of this year that the multi-platinum masked metal outfit had amassed some 50 song ideas and had enlisted producer Matt Wallace (Faith No More, Mushroomhead) for this upcoming new outing.
Recent posts shared by guitarist Jim Root confirm that tracking remains in progress, with hashtags like “#newrecord” and his latest Instagram story making clear that work on that eighth full-length offering from the group remains underway. Of course, that album will be not only the band’s first proper outing without Sid Wilson, but also their first since welcoming in drummer Eloy Casagrande back in 2024.
Slipknot completed their recording contract with longtime label home Roadrunner Records with the release of 2022’s “The End, So Far“, with it currently unclear as to how they will be releasing this new outing.
