Diamond-certified country star Carrie Underwood slipped covers of nü-metal stars Limp Bizkit, Linkin Park and Papa Roach into her set last night, September 05th, at the ‘VELOCITY Festival‘. That event was held at the Fields Of Dreams in Dyersville, IA. Towards the end of her set, she covered Collective Soul‘s “Shine“, reprised her own parts on Papa Roach‘s “Scars“, and tackled Linkin Park‘s early 00s hit “One Step Closer“.
She also donned a red hat for a rendition of Limp Bizkit‘s enduring 1999 hit “Break Stuff” to close out that block of covers. Fan-filmed footage of that has since surfaced online below, along with her take on the Linkin Park staple. Underwood has open about her love of late 90s and early 00s nü-metal in the past, having previously shown her admiration on ‘American Idol‘ back in 2025.
