Gold-certified alternative rockers Queens Of The Stone Age have now officially set October 30th as the release date for their ninth studio album “Perfecth“. The group have just offered up a new track from that outing, “Insignificant Other“, ahead of time. According to the band’s ringleader Josh Homme, “Nothing in this world is perfect, but everything seems to be ‘perfecth’. And that title is funny when you’re in a group, but it ain’t so funny when you’re alone.”
The reveal of this effort follows a significant amount of comedic teasing online from the group. As for the meaning behind this second single to arrive from the record, Homme revealed, “It’s a song about distance. About how someone can be your entire world only to simply vanish. And about the strange vertigo of being on the receiving end of that.”
Outside of this new track, the band also just issued yet another new bizarre clip, which was penned by Homme himself and directed by Chapman Baehler. You can watch it below.
Homme and the band’s bassist/vocalist, etc. Michael Shuman co-produced “Perfecth“, which took the Japanese art of repairing broken things known as Kintsugi to heart. Homme said of that: “Every song sounds like it’s from a different world. And that’s on purpose, because it’s trying to stitch together all these emotions revolving around love, lust, foolishness, and the sort of wisdom that comes as a gift from all that.”
