“Aerials“, the third and final single from System Of A Down‘s 6x nü-metal landmark album “Toxicity“, is their latest track to join the billions club on Spotify. That track just became the band’s fourth song overall to hit that feat on the aforementioned digital service provider. “Aerials” itself was last certified 2x platinum in the United States on July 19th, 2022.
Two other songs to have hit that milestone also hail from “Toxicity“, with the band’s definitive single “Chop Suey” having already cleared 2 billion streams on the service, while the title track to the aforementioned album sits at 1.6 billion.
The band’s only other track to cross into the billions on Spotify as of press time is “Lonely Day“, — the final single from what also stands as their final studio album, 2005’s “Hypnotize“. Recent months have also seen another pair of hard rock/metal staples join the billions club, with AC/DC‘s “T.N.T.“, Ozzy Osbourne‘s “Crazy Train” and Led Zeppelin‘s “Immigrant Song” among the latest to be certified.
