Acclaimed composer/musician Danny Elfman has been working on a new rock album, details for which he intends to reveal soon. That revelation would explain some of the guests Elfman was seen in the studio with earlier this year. Among then were Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash and Limp Bizkit guitarist Wes Borland.
Elfman was more forthcoming with the details for his fall touring plans however, confirming the dates for a new tour in support of that record. He’s enlisted a number of metal and rock luminaries to serve as his backing band for that venture, though notably, his somewhat recent recruit Reba Meyers isn’t mentioned.
Instead, set to join Elfman onstage for this run are:
Guitars: Nili Brosh (Dethklok)
Guitars: Robin Finck (Nine Inch Nails, ex-Guns N’ Roses)
Bass: Matt McJunkins (A Perfect Circle)
Drums: Josh Freese (Nine Inch Nails, ex-Foo Fighters, etc.)
This upcoming run won’t focus explicitly on Elfman‘s more rock-oriented output however, as fans can expect to also hear tracks from his catalog, including Oingo Boingo and more. The outdoor concerts for this run will also see an orchestra and choir accompanying him and the band for select pieces from the various iconic film and television scores Elfman has helmed over the years.
