Danish industrialized groove metal outfit Raunchy have taken another step towards releasing their comeback album “Prisoner“. The band have newly debuted the below music video for “Darkest Self” as the third single from that record. That effort will meet an August 14th release through Mighty Music. It will arrive as band’s seventh overall and their first in a dozen years.

Prisoner” experienced a long gestation period, with initial tracking sessions taking place some seven years ago. Keyboardist/vocalist Jeppe Christensen said of the drawn out recording process:

“This album took the time it needed. We had no deadline. No label breathing down our necks. We just wrote until the songs felt right and threw out everything that didn’t. I think you can hear that – there’s no filler on this one.”

Drummer Morten “Molle” Toft Hansen agreed, adding:

“We’re not chasing anything. We made the record we wanted to make. If people show up, that’s the gift. And if they don’t, we’ll still have an album we’re proud of.”

Producer Jacob Hansen (Aborted, Katatonia) once again oversaw this upcoming release, which can be pre-ordered now via Bandcamp.
