Nü-metal icons Limp Bizkit have publicly called out a webstore that has been claiming to be the ‘official merchandise store for Limp Bizkit fans’. The group have publicly labeled that operation as hocking ‘fake bootleg unofficial Limp Bizkit merch’. The band also went on to reveal that they intend to launch a new official merch store of their own ‘very soon’.
That venture is long overdue given the rise in bootleg Bizkit merch amid the resurgence in popularity the multi-platinum outfit have experienced in recent years. Earlier this week, Limp Bizkit guitarist Wes Borland officially launched his new signature Jackson King V guitar. In an accompanying mini-documentary, he spoke of the band’s return to fame following the collapse of their late 90s/early 00s multi-platinum heyday [transcribed by theprp.com]:
“The past two years for us has been wild. I don’t know it’s people doing dances on TikTok or if it’s just the resurgence of the band, but one of the things that sort of made that happen was this video in South America of like the crowds just going bananas.
Every show we play, Fred will go ,’If this is your first time at a Limp Bizkit concert, let me see your hands in the air.’ 90% of the crowd raises their hands. This feels as big, if not bigger, than when we first came out. People aren’t old and gray like us. People are young and like new, like new fans.”
As for the bootleg merch and and their upcoming official store, the band said social media today, May 29th:
“WARNING – this online shop is FAKE AS A MF – if you want FAKE BOOTLEG UNOFFICIAL limp bizkit merch then go right ahead – BUT for those who want the real deal merch you’re in luck – we are launching our FIRST and ONLY online merch shop VERY soon. Stay tuned”
