Bristol, UK nü-metal group Profiler are newly streaming their track “Shadow“. The song sports some philosophical underpinnings via a nod to late Swiss psychiatrist, psychotherapist, etc. Carl Jung. Profiler vocalist Mike Evans commented of that heady inspiration:
“‘Shadow‘ is a track that discusses the theme of the inner critic by the philosopher Carl Jung. This song is a conversation with the inner shadow, symbolising a connection to the part of ourselves that we avoid, but needs to be addressed.”
A press release further explained, ‘In Jungian psychology, the “Shadow” refers to those aspects of the self that we do not like or wish to be associated with. The suppressed, the denied, the unseen. Profiler transforms this philosophy into a sonic reckoning, crafting a track that is as intellectually compelling as it is emotionally raw.’
