13 years ago today, May 19th, footage of Texan metalcore band Live Without made history. With permission from the owners, the band staged an unlikely show in a Denny’s location. As bizarre as it all seems, the backstory is that the location in question was set to be closed shortly after the show.
That intimate performance was modestly attended, but its legend grew online, generating millions of views since. A large part of that was the band’s frontman Kris‘ infamous stage call of “What The Fuck Is Up, Denny’s?”.
Yesterday, May 18th, serves as the 13th anniversary of that show, and the band have reunited ahead of time for a collaboration with the international diner chain. In the below video you can find the group unveiling the ‘Mozz Pit Burger’, which is available for a limited time at select Denny’s locations.
According to an official press release:
‘The Mozz Pit Burger starts with a juicy 100% beef patty, melted American cheese, and a soft, golden brioche bun. But it doesn’t stop there – three crispy mozzarella sticks crash the party, drenched in rich tomato sauce for a flavor explosion that’s part burger, part cheesy masterpiece – and all chaos in the best way possible.’
Chris Bode, President & CEO of Denny’s, stated of this new menu addition:
“We’re inviting fans to stage-dive into this over-the-top burger. The Mozz Pit Burger celebrates the ‘no rules’ attitude that makes Denny’s so iconic and always open for whatever the day or night may bring. It’s loud, it’s bold, and it’s a tribute to the fans who have made America’s Diner the stuff of legends.”
The burger will be available from April 29th through June 02nd in select restaurants in Houston, TX, Los Angeles, CA and Miami, FL. Meanwhile, a post on social media announcing the collab noted, ” if this music video gets 500k likes my boss said we can do a live show.”
