Given the frequent criticisms about the quality of Mötley Crüe frontman Vince Neil‘s vocal abilities in a live capacity, the recent announcement that the glam metal legends would be appearing on the reality singing competition series ‘American Idol‘ raised some eyebrows. However, as it turns out they’ll have a bit of extra firepower in a former ‘American Idol” winner, Carrie Underwood, onstage with them.
While a diamond-certified country star in her own right, Underwood has over the years showcased her admiration for hard rock and nü-metal, teaming with Guns N’ Roses, Papa Roach, covering Ozzy Osbourne, and even assisting on some Korn and Drowning Pool renditions on a past ‘American Idol‘ season.
This live collaboration between Mötley Crüe and Underwood is scheduled to air on the season finale of the current 24th season of ‘American Idol‘. That episode will air this coming Monday, May 11th. Shinedown, Nelly, En Vogue and more are also set to perform on that episode.
