August Burns Red have served up some “Sonic Salvation” with their latest single. The Lancaster, PA-based metalcore group have just put up a new song by that name, complete with a cameo from Jamie Hails, vocalist of Australian progressive metalcore band Polaris. August Burns Red will have that track included on their forthcoming new album “Season Of Surrender“, due out June 05th on Fearless Records.
Guitarist JB Brubaker stated:
“‘Sonic Salvation‘ was the first song I wrote for ‘Season of Surrender‘. I set out to write a song that created more space for Jake vocally and leaned a little more into our hardcore influences. I love how this song came out and Jamie‘s guest vocal really takes it over the top for me.”
His bandmate, vocalist Jake Luhrs, stated:
“‘Sonic Salvation‘ is about finding power and strength in music. The fact that music can bring us back to a memory, help us decompress from the outside world and how music is what has created our world that is the metal scene.”
Hails isn’t the only metalcore musician from Down Under to land a guest spot on that LP, as members of Make Them Suffer will appear on “Cerebral Malfunction“. The only other listed cameo comes from far closer to home, with The Devil Wears Prada‘s vocalist Mike Hranica appearing on the opening track, “Legions“.
Outside of an Australian tour this September, August Burns Red are keeping the Aussie connection going on their current spring co-headlining tour with Australian metalcore band The Amity Affliction. That bill also features Boundaries and another Australian export, HEAVENSGATE.
