A new music video for the song “The Lantern” from tenured Finnish prog metal band Amorphis has been uploaded to the net. Patrik Skoglöw directed the visuals for that track. The song is featured on the band’s 15th studio album “Borderland“, which saw a release last year. Speaking of it now, lead guitarist Esa Holopainen shared his thoughts on it, while also revealing a tidbit about its early working title:
“The song has a strong atmosphere and cinematic storytelling. It plays with classic elements, and you might even catch influences from Vangelis. Tomi Joutsen did an incredible job throughout the whole album, and on ‘The Lantern‘ you can really hear how the vocals beautifully carry the song’s dramatic arc. The working title was ‘Jore,’ which doesn’t really say anything about the track itself. But those who know, know.”
