Left To Suffer, etc. vocalist Taylor Barber and King 810 singer David Gunn have shared a cover of System Of A Down‘s 1998 debut single “Sugar“. Originally released on May 24th, 1998, that track served as the world’s official introduction to the Armenian-American nü-metal superstars. It would later be certified both gold and platinum in the United States over two decades later, receiving that honor back in July of 2022.
Barber himself has direct ties to the System Of A Down camp, being that he is also a vocalist in Seven Hours After Violet — the alternative metal band featuring System Of A Down bassist Shavo Odadjian. It would appear that Barber and King snuck this one out under Shavo‘s nose, as he replied in the comments, “Damn brother!”
In 2024, Barber also got the privilege of fronting System Of A Down‘s “Prison Song“, not only with Shavo on bass, but also with the legendary band’s John Dolmayan also on drums.
